About the lodge

About Angama Amboseli.

Angama Amboseli is set in Kimana Sanctuary, a community-owned wildlife area on the corridor elephants use between Amboseli and the Chyulu Hills. The suites face Kilimanjaro, and the big tuskers of the area are sometimes seen feeding close to the lodge.

Guests explore the sanctuary on day and night game drives and on foot, and can spend half or full days in Amboseli National Park, about 45 minutes away. Visits to the Big Life Foundation's ranger teams can also be arranged.

When to go

The lodge through the year.

December to March

A high season for wildlife viewing in Kenya, according to KWS, with short grass and mostly sunny weather.

April to June

The long rains. KWS says animals can be harder to see and many roads may need four-wheel drive.

July to December

The other high season in KWS guidance. Sightings are never guaranteed.
