About the camp

About Elewana Tortilis Camp Amboseli.

Tortilis Camp is named after the flat-topped acacia trees around it and looks straight across to Mount Kilimanjaro. It sits in a private conservancy on the edge of Amboseli National Park, used only by the camp's guests.

Game drives run in both the park and the conservancy, and walks with Maasai guides are a highlight. A private house and a family tent stand a little apart, with their own pool.

When to go

The camp through the year.

December to March

A high season for wildlife viewing, according to KWS, with short grass and mostly sunny weather.

April to June

The long rains. KWS says animals can be harder to see and many park roads may need four-wheel drive.

July to December

The other high season in KWS guidance, with short grass that makes wildlife easier to see. Sightings are never guaranteed.
