About the lodge

About Amboseli Serena Safari Lodge.

Amboseli Serena stands inside the national park, built in a Maasai-inspired style with views to Mount Kilimanjaro. It runs fully on solar power, and since 1991 it has planted more than 6.7 million trees.

Guests head out on day and night game drives, birding trips and nature walks, with bush breakfasts and dinners and a sundowner on Observation Hill. Family rooms have two bedrooms.

When to go

The lodge through the year.

December to March

A high season for wildlife viewing, according to KWS, with short grass and mostly sunny weather.

April to June

The long rains. KWS says animals can be harder to see and many park roads may need four-wheel drive.

July to December

The other high season in KWS guidance, with short grass that makes wildlife easier to see. Sightings are never guaranteed.
