Mahali Mzuri, part of Virgin Limited Edition, looks out over rolling plains from the side of a valley in the Olare Motorogi Conservancy. The migration passes through the area in season.

Game drives are the heart of each day, with bush breakfasts and sundowners out on the plains, and a pool and spa back at camp. There is a family tent.

When to go

The camp through the year.

July to October

A Kenya Wildlife Service official says the wildebeest migration is on the Kenyan side in these months. Timing varies from year to year, and sightings are never guaranteed.

November to March

Kenya Wildlife Service counts July to March as high season, with sunny weather and short grass that makes animals easier to see.

April to June

The long rains usually fall now. Kenya Wildlife Service notes that some roads may need four-wheel drive.
