Wilderness Mara
Twelve tents beside the Mara River in the Mara Triangle, rebuilt in 2026 on the site of Little Governors' Camp.
About the camp
About Wilderness Mara.
Wilderness Mara stands on the edge of a marsh beside the Mara River, backed by woodland and the Oloololo Escarpment. Lions, elephants and black rhino live in the area all year, and the migration passes through in season. The camp reopened in 2026, fully rebuilt by Wilderness on the site of the old Little Governors' Camp.
Game drives are mainly in the Mara Triangle, and balloon flights launch a few minutes' walk from camp (an extra). There is one family tent with a separate children's room.

A Kenya Wildlife Service official says the wildebeest migration is on the Kenyan side in these months. Angama Safari Camp moves with it from July to September.
Kenya Wildlife Service counts July to March as high season, with sunny weather and short grass that makes animals easier to see.
The long rains usually fall now. Kenya Wildlife Service notes that some roads may need four-wheel drive.
