The destination

A conservancy, not the reserve.

Mara Naboisho is not part of the Maasai Mara National Reserve. It is a group conservancy next to it, with its own camps, rules and fees. A day in the national reserve is a separate excursion.

The land belongs to Maasai families, who lease it to the conservancy.

Activities depend on the camp and the season. We confirm what is possible when we plan your stay.

  1. Game drives

Morning and afternoon drives across the conservancy’s plains and valleys.

  2. Guided walks

On foot with a guide, for the smaller details of the landscape.

  3. Night drives

After dark, when a different set of animals is active.

When to go

The conservancy through the year.

June to September

Dry season. The migration may cross into the conservancy, most often in August and September, but it is never guaranteed.

October to January

Quieter months, good for birds and photography. Short rains usually fall in November and December.

February to May

February is usually dry. The long rains tend to begin by mid-March, and by May the plains are green.
