About Segera Retreat.

Segera Retreat is set in gardens within about 50,000 acres of Laikipia, with contemporary African art throughout and its own galleries. The airstrip is right by the retreat.

The ten villas have salt-water pools nearby, and guests can add a night on a sleep-out bed under the stars. There is a spa, a wine tower and a star deck.

When to go

The lodge through the year.

July to March

The high season in KWS guidance for Kenya's parks, when shorter grass can make wildlife easier to see. Sightings are never guaranteed.

April to June

The long rains. KWS says most park roads may need four-wheel drive at this time.

All year

KWS describes Kenya's central highlands as cool and the north as hot and dry, so pack for warm days and cool evenings.
