About Ol Jogi.

Ol Jogi is a 58,000-acre private conservancy on the Laikipia Plateau, and its house is booked by one group at a time. Profits from guests support the conservancy's work, which includes a wildlife rescue centre, a veterinary clinic and the protection of black rhino, Grevy's zebra and wild dog.

Seven cottages share a veranda over a waterhole, and the house has its own spa, pool, tennis court and cinema. Game drives, riding, walks and helicopter flights can all be arranged.

When to go

The house through the year.

July to March

The high season in KWS guidance for Kenya's parks, when shorter grass can make wildlife easier to see. Sightings are never guaranteed.

April to June

The long rains. KWS says most park roads may need four-wheel drive at this time.

All year

KWS describes Kenya's central highlands as cool and the north as hot and dry, so pack for warm days and cool evenings.
