Mara North Conservancy
A conservancy in the north-west of the Maasai Mara ecosystem, run as a partnership between Maasai landowners and tourism partners. It borders the national reserve.
The destination
A conservancy, not the reserve.
Mara North is not part of the Maasai Mara National Reserve. It sits beside it, in the north-west of the wider Mara ecosystem. A visit to the reserve is a separate outing, with its own fees.
The conservancy describes itself as a not-for-profit partnership between Maasai landowners and the camps that operate there. It was set up in January 2009.
