Solio
A private rhino conservancy between Mount Kenya and the Aberdare Ranges, also known as Solio Game Reserve or Solio Ranch.

A private reserve for rhino.
Solio is private land between the slopes of Mount Kenya and the Aberdare Ranges, known for its long role in rhino conservation. Despite the name Solio Game Reserve, it is not a national park or national reserve.
JW Marriott opened a tented camp here in 2026, and describes it as within Solio Conservancy.

Game drives, day and night
The camp lists guided drives at sunrise and in the late afternoon, and night drives.
On foot and by bike
Guided walking safaris and cycling excursions are also offered.
Birding
Expert-led birding is on the camp's list of activities.
When to go
The conservancy through the year.
The high season in KWS guidance for Kenya's parks, when shorter grass can make wildlife easier to see. Sightings are never guaranteed.
The long rains. KWS says most park roads may need four-wheel drive at this time.
KWS describes Kenya's central highlands as cool and the north as hot and dry, so pack for warm days and cool evenings.
